Mr. Borer is an experienced nuclear power executive, having served in line management positions in nuclear power plant and corporate organizations as well as in management and consulting positions with INPO.
Paul’s assignments in the commercial nuclear power sector included Vice President, Nuclear Generation – Detroit Edison, Vice President, Nuclear Engineering - New York Power Authority, and various management positions at Cooper Nuclear Station (Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, Chemistry and Radiation Protection Manager).
Paul’s assignments at INPO included: Senior Representative for Assistance, a management consulting role – responsible for formulating performance improvement plans for several nuclear stations; Director, Plant Operations Division - a technical INPO division responsible for evaluation of operations, chemistry, and radiation protection areas; and Department Manager for four INPO departments (Emergency Preparedness, Operating Experience Applications, Technical Support, and Operations) - responsible for the evaluation of their respective areas of plant performance and various assistance programs. He also functioned as a Team Manager and lead teams of 15-20 INPO and industry professionals during performance-based nuclear plant and corporate valuations.
Paul has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Delaware. He received his initial nuclear power training through US Navy’s Nuclear Power Training Program. He has been licensed as a professional engineer and as a BWR Senior Reactor Operator.
